The Emergency Operations Center and Public Safety Department need evaluation and options to expand operations, including but not limited to, buildout and reconfiguration of the existing facility. Project needs include a commercial kitchen, revitalized bunk space, expansion of services to support emergency operations, infrastructure improvement, and update of systems. Design evaluations to consider multiple options to meet the variety of needs within the project.

Design Firm: Harvard Jolly. Construction Manager @ Risk: TBD. Programming meetings will be held with stakeholders (CCSO, Animal Control, Emergency Management, Punta Gorda Police, 911 call center, JIC, Public Safety, Human Services, etc) to identify their needs in the Emergency Operations Center. Construction Manager @ Risk Request For Proposals was approved by Facilities and Florida Department Emergency Management on 1/27/2025 and resubmitted to purchasing for advertisement, with the shortlisting scheduled for March 18, 2025, at 10 AM. Master planning efforts of the site continue to determine the full buildout of the property.
